Where is God?

A friend of mine wrote a blog titled “Where is God” is response to the shooting in Thousand Oaks. It’s a good question to ask. Where is God? Perhaps letting us choose to allow him into our lives.

Those who have opened the door to God receive support and peace at a time like this. Those that haven’t – lives self-guided by feelings and emotions, which can result in behavior that hurts others. This is a good reminder to continually pray that God is with us, because the alternative is a dark place.

Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in

-Revelation 3:20

Part of God’s love is that he stand at the door and knocks and waits for us to answer rather than busting the door down. Probably there are a lot of people asking where God is. Yet, where am I? Where should I be when God is taken out of the national anthem, when bibles are not allowed in schools. Where should I be when God calls me to spend time with him in the morning? Am I asking God to live in a box so as not to disrupt my life, but demanding his whereabouts when things go horribly wrong?

God has the solution already. He’s just waiting for us to be his hands and feet to carry it out. I’ll pray for those who suffered loss in this, and also pray for those who are lost.
