There are several references in the bible to Shepherds and their sheep. Pastor Zedick speaks about how eastern shepherds would actually walk ahead of their flock, and lead the way, calling their sheep by name. This is how God leads us. He does not walk behind us, prodding and forcing the way. God walks ahead, calling us by name, leading the way.
